I Have Resurrection Magic

Chapter 141

CHAPTER 141
Let’s sleep together.
After stupidly repeating her words, I moved with Lua.
We couldn’t stay in the ruined Holy Land.
The Holy Knights prioritized the Saintess and me, escorting us to a nearby Holy Church facility.
The area around the Holy Land was filled with towns affiliated with the Holy Church.
Thanks to that, we received the utmost care wherever we went.
The sudden appearance of the Sin of Pride, Arborex.
After a tenacious pursuit, he was finally captured.
It wasn't the main force they had yet to catch in the 2nd World, but Inferno had chased him to hell and back, determined to at least capture the Sin of Pride.
‘He’s a reliable old man, that one.’
I was worried he might not catch him, but he pulled it through.
However, the insectoid plant that Arborex had sent away ultimately could not be tracked.
I heard Inferno was furious about losing it, but there was nothing to be done.
Just as we had achieved our objective, so too had Black Dawn, so it was only fair that he was frustrated.
But you can't win them all.
Since Inferno had done his best, I accepted it.
In addition, news arrived that Ganibal, the Sin of Gluttony who had become an Apostle, had also been defeated.
Anastasia had triumphed over Ganibal once again, following their previous battle.
That’s Anastasia for you.
As for Lululio, she was whining about having died and come back to life.
I told her she’d been through a lot too and should get plenty of rest.
With this, we had secured the bodies of two of the Sins.
We could probably interrogate them further from now on.
My Resurrection magic was necessary for interrogation.
So, normally I would have headed straight to the capital with the Regular Army as soon as they returned, but I couldn't.
I was currently forbidden from using Resurrection magic.
Furthermore, lying next to me in bed, snuggled against me, was a woman wearing only a single slip of silk.
“Harua, you must hold me tighter.”
“I’m doing my best here.”
The woman in my arms was none other than Lua.
The Saintess, adored and respected by people all over the world.
So why was this Saintess lying next to me like this right now?
It was to draw out the excess Divine Power that had accumulated in my body.
And why did we have to be in contact, wearing barely anything, to draw out Divine Power?
That’s because Lua was acting as a medium to extract the Divine Power from my body.
A droplet of pure white Divine Power formed near Lua's hair, then fell into a bowl placed on the floor.
It was the purest Divine Power in the world.
As I briefly watched the Divine Power fill the bowl, I was suddenly reminded of the Transcendent's milk I had received from Dark Hood.
Don’t tell me he got it like this.

In that case, was what I drank back then Lua’s…?
“Lua, have you ever done this before?”
“No. I’m not that kind of loose woman, you know.”
I doubt anyone would think of the Saintess as a loose woman.
“Then, how did you know how to do this?”
“The Holy Church has many records. This is one of them.”
So, what I drank must have been from one of the past Saintesses.
I had to wonder how on earth Dark Hood had obtained such a thing.
“For the time being, we’ll have to stay like this for four hours every day.”
“How long will it take?”
“At least two weeks. The amount of Divine Power built up in your body is extraordinary, Harua-nim.”
“That’s a long time.”
If I lowered my gaze even slightly, Lua’s pale white shoulder line came into view.
Moreover, it seemed the Saintess didn't accumulate any waste products in her body, as she had the faint, sweet scent of a baby.
Her body temperature was also warmer than mine.
Honestly, it was to the point where I wondered if she might actually be a baby.
What would people say if they saw this?
The members of the Holy Church, at the very least, would probably try to kill me, calling me an abomination against heaven and earth.
I had to endure it, as it was necessary to avoid permanent Apostle Transformation.
But as a man, this situation was making my head spin in various ways.
The only saving grace was that I didn’t have a heart.
My libido doesn’t function.
“Harua, you have a surprisingly broad chest.”
What is this sly Saintess saying?
She peeked her head out from my chest and looked up at me.
The slight smile playing on her lips was full of mischief.
“And you’re more mischievous than I thought, Lua.”
“I’m at an age where I can be quite playful, you know.”
Ah, that’s right. In terms of age, Lua was younger than me.
On Earth, she’d be in the middle of her school years.
If word got out that I was doing this with a girl that age, I’d be sued immediately.
But this is another world, so I figured I could probably get away with it.
“So, Lua, isn’t being the Saintess difficult for you?”
Lua and I had never had a normal, everyday conversation.

That was only natural, as Lua had always met me in her capacity as the Saintess.
But today, Lua seemed a bit more relaxed than before.
I felt it would be okay to have a more casual conversation.
“If you ask someone who was born a Saintess if it’s difficult, what am I supposed to say?”
She had a point.
From the moment Lua opened her eyes, she was already the Saintess.
For her, saying that being the Saintess was difficult would be like denying her entire life.
“Were you hoping for an answer like I yearn for freedom, or that I hate this life of confinement?”
Lua said with a slight smile.
True to her words, I had been thinking something along those lines.
“Unfortunately for you, I quite like my life as the Saintess. A life of being admired and supported by others. I don’t dislike that sort of thing, you see.”
“You have a cunning side to you.”
“Yes, that’s right. I am a cunning woman. I enjoy a distinguished life.”
The Saintess was no ordinary person, indeed.
And it was because she was this kind of person that Lua could always be so dignified as the Saintess.
“However. Watching you this time, Harua, I came to realize many things.”
Lua’s forehead gently touched my chest.
It was warm.
“Ah, it’s the thought that no matter how much of a Saintess I am, I could never become someone like you, Harua.”
“What good would becoming like me do? There’s nothing great about it.”
“Yes, that’s the point. You see, I like the position of Saintess, and I don’t hate this life. In fact, you could say I do it because I want to.”
Lua’s hair tickled my body.
Her pure white hair was so meticulously cared for that it was incredibly soft.
“But you’re different, Harua.”
You don’t do it because you want to.
Is that what she meant?

“You’re a Transferee, Harua. You were someone who never had to live this kind of life in the first place. I have my duties, but you have no such obligations.”
My life is something I chose.
It certainly wasn’t a task forced upon me by someone else.
“And yet, you do it. You see it through, saying it was your own decision. I can’t do that. If I didn’t have the duty of being the Saintess, I probably wouldn’t have been able to endure this incident.”
“Aren’t you overestimating me a little?”
“Yes, and that’s what I mean when I say you do it even without any obligation.”
Lua pulled me a little closer.
As a result, I felt something soft and firm press against my stomach.
It had more volume than I expected.
“You don’t seek anyone’s gratitude, nor do you desire their admiration, Harua. That’s why whenever someone praises you, you either refuse it or just accept it passively. Because their gratitude wasn’t what you were looking for.”
“Gratitude isn’t something you can see. My actions are just a materialistic desire for tangible rewards.”
“The path you’ve walked, Harua, isn’t something that can be repaid with material things.”
This Saintess’s high praise of me is getting out of hand.
It seemed that no matter what I did, I ended up with a good reputation.
“Harua, there are times when others see things in you that you yourself are not aware of.”
People’s eyes always produced a variety of results.
A single trait in a person could sometimes be a flaw, and at other times, a strength.
“The people by your side must know your good qualities very well, Harua.”
The people by my side.
The first two who came to mind were Aranseol and Babiyen.
And just as Lua had said, I could predict that all hell would break loose if those two found out about this.
“Later, when things get tough for you, Harua, tell them. They will surely be there to support you.”
“I think what I’m doing right now is the toughest thing.”
“Unfortunately, if you told them about this, I don't know what they might do to you.”
Aranseol’s chilling smile and Babiyen’s fist came to mind.
And for some reason, a sense of guilt welled up inside me.
It made sense to feel guilty toward Babiyen, since she confessed she liked me, but why did I feel guilty toward Aranseol too?
Is it because I think of her as precious?
I don’t know.
Perhaps because my heart is gone, there are often times when I feel confused about my own emotions.
A sense of crisis or tension.
The reason I often feel I’m lacking in those things might be because my heart doesn’t pound, so I can’t feel that anxiety.
The boldness of my actions up to this point.
If that was achieved because I have no heart, then in a way, it made sense.
“Lua, do you think the hole that appeared this time will be okay?”
Separate from our previous conversation, something else came to mind.

Bloody Crown was obsessed with driving out the Transferees.
The reason was unknown, but it was a fact that he had opened a hole to send the Transferees away.
A hole that could draw in even more of the Transcendents’ power.
There was a possibility that Transferees could be dragged back through it.
“The hole itself should be fine. It won’t just send away Transferees like you’re worried about.”
“‘Just Transferees’ means that the people of this world could be sent away too, right?”
“It’s been almost a hundred years since the Transferees were transferred. In that time, many people have been born between Transferees and us.”
The emotion of love does not distinguish between races.
So, children existed between the people of this world and Transferees, and some were even older than me.
“From Bloody Crown’s perspective, they were probably all just Transferees.”
“What a madman.”
“And that includes Bloody Crown himself.”
“Bloody Crown too?”

This was news to me.
When I turned to look at Lua, she gave a bitter smile.
“Bloody Crown was of mixed Transferee heritage. And he was the one who killed his own Transferee father.”
The Archbishop of the Radiance Faith had Transferee blood in his veins.
While that fact was surprising, I also recalled Bloody Crown’s deep-seated hatred for Transferees.
Just as I had gotten off on the wrong foot, it seemed he had too.
“Was he trying to erase even himself from this world?”
“That, I don’t know.”
Not that I felt any sympathy for Bloody Crown.
He was an unspeakable monster with a twisted ideology.
“Still, with the hole having grown larger, the power of the Transcendents will also grow stronger from now on.”
What kind of influence would the Transcendents’ power have on this world?
There was no way to be sure.
Just then, I heard the sound of Lua’s soft, even breathing.
When I looked down, she was asleep.
Come to think of it, she had been through hell today.
Extracting the Divine Power could be done slowly.
For now, it was probably best to get some sleep.
‘Let’s rest and talk later.’
There was still plenty of time left to be close with Lua.
